The Arbor Research John Newmann Fund

John Newmann, a founding member of the board of directors of Arbor Research Collaborative for Health, passed away in August 2011. In recognition of his lifelong advocacy for patients with chronic kidney disease, Arbor Research has established the John Newmann Fund. The fund supports efforts to integrate our research findings into day-to-day medical and health policy practices.

In John’s work with Arbor Research and in his leadership roles in the American Association of Kidney Patients, the American Society of Nephrology, and other renal organizations, he always advocated for patients first. He personified the mission of Arbor Research in a personal, persuasive, and unyielding fashion — to improve patient care and quality of life for those with chronic kidney disease and other serious illnesses. That deep commitment underlies the impetus for the John Newman Fund: to better understand how our findings can improve patient care and quality of life.

Contributions to the John Newmann Fund will be used to reach out to caregivers, clinicians, and patients so they may become more aware of treatment options available to those with chronic kidney disease and other chronic illnesses.
