Arbor Research Collaborative for Health, an internationally respected not-for-profit health outcomes research foundation, is seeking an Analyst for epidemiologic, health policy, and health economics research. Responsibilities include statistical programming and analysis, research study design, preparation of medical research papers and presentations.
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Participate in analyses to address questions posed by data requesters and funding sources.
- Contribute significantly to the design of analytical approaches for specific research questions.
- Successfully and independently accomplish a wide variety of analytical requests, including writing papers for journals, performing simple quick-turnaround data request for funding sources and the general public, and perform analyses for investigators or committees.
- Present results clearly in public forums to biostatisticians and non-biostatisticians (including clinicians), and represent Arbor Research in these presentations.
- Contribute to the writing and production of proposals for new projects.
- Display a professional and exemplary work and research ethic in both attitude and accomplishment.
- Develop SAS code for completing analyses and verify accuracy of coding.
- Prepare medical and statistical research papers and presentations in support of epidemiologic and health policy research.
- Determine feasibility of data requests, working with requesters as well as SRTR statisticians and Manager of Analytic Support to find appropriate compromise to fit within budgeted time available.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and conduct research under the direction of supervisors and principals.
- Collaborate with other research staff.
- Work with junior analysts to help understand and implement statistical analyses. Help in choosing or developing methodological approaches to requested analyses.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree plus at least 2 years progressively more responsible statistical programming experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent organizational and mentoring skills
- Excellent understanding of statistical concepts and fluency in analytical approaches for health care outcomes
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- At least 2 years experience with SAS, including conducting survival analyses
- Demonstrated ability to fulfill the functions outlined above.
- Health research background is a bonus but is not an essential requirement
The successful candidate must be able to supply proof of eligibility to work in the US.
