Arbor Research Provides Support for the CMS 2012 ESRD QIP
This summer marked an important milestone for Arbor Research. As part of the work for The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under the ESRD Quality Measure Development and Maintenance contract, Arbor Research provided implementation support to CMS for the launch of the ESRD 2012 Quality Incentive Program (QIP).

The ESRD QIP is CMS’s first national value-based purchasing program. Arbor Research, in partnership with the University of Michigan-Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center (UM-KECC), worked closely with CMS on the implementation of the ESRD QIP, providing analytic and operational support throughout the year, culminating in the production of the QIP Performance Score Reports (PSRs) and conducting the thirty-day preview period for over 5000 Medicare-certified dialysis facilities. Support was also provided to CMS in drafting responses to facilities that submitted questions about their QIP scores. The PSRs were made available to facilities via Arbor Research’s secure website, www.DialysisReports.org.

The final PSRs and the Performance Score Certificates (PSCs) will be available to facilities in December 2011. Arbor Research also continued to serve as the portal for secure online access for facilities, CMS, the ESRD Networks, and State Surveyors to obtain the 2011 Dialysis Facility Reports (DFRs).
