The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has awarded Arbor Research a 5-year Measure and Instrument Development and Support (MIDS) umbrella contract. This contract allows us to bid on projects to support the development and implementation of measures of quality of care for CMS programs. Arbor Research is one of 18 organizations throughout the U.S. that have received this competitive award. This contract provides the opportunity to play a role in a rapidly growing area of research that has potentially important implications for public policy and the quality and efficiency of health care in the U.S.
Arbor Research has been a CMS MIDS contractor since 2008. As a MIDS contractor, we currently provide technical support for the ESRD Quality Incentive Program (QIP), are working to develop population health related quality measures, and are supporting the alignment of quality and public reporting of CMS programs and websites.
