DeWitt and Morlock join Arbor Research Board of Directors

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has elected two new members for terms starting in January 2019. Jocelyn DeWitt and David Morlock will contribute valuable expertise regarding integrated health care delivery information systems and health care financial management.

Jocelyn DeWitt is the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President at UW Health System, the academic medical center and health system for the University of Wisconsin. She is responsible for the information technology strategy, implementation plans, and support for UW Health and the University of Wisconsin Schools of Medicine and Public Health. Her department’s goals are to reduce redundant work and to create more rational support paths for customers, greater efficiencies in delivering information services, and unified strategic plans for information technology infrastructure and applications. Dr. DeWitt previously served as the Chief Information Officer for the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers (UMHHC).

David Morlock is a Managing Director at Cain Brothers, a pre-eminent healthcare investment bank. He is a senior banker in the firm’s Health Systems Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Mr. Morlock joined Cain Brothers in 2016 with 30 years of experience as a health system executive. His track record includes strategy development, mergers and acquisitions, affiliation agreements, joint ventures, major capital investments, and other unique arrangements tailored to meet the needs of healthcare organizations’ specific circumstances. Prior to joining Cain Brothers, Mr. Morlock served as the CEO of the University of Toledo Medical Center and as the CFO of the University of Michigan Health System.

“I look forward to the insights that Jocelyn DeWitt and David Morlock will provide as our newest board members, especially as we embark on strategic goals related to technology and finance,” commented Robert M. Merion, president and chief executive officer of Arbor Research. “Their experience and positions within key sectors of the health care industry fill important board recruiting goals for Arbor Research as we continue our strategic growth and seek to maximize our impact.” The decision to elect Dr. DeWitt and Mr. Morlock reflects the board’s focus on the Arbor Research mission. Board chair Mark Barr stated, “The ongoing evolution of a highly engaged and diverse board is a critical component supporting our mission to improve care for patients through research, and toward achieving our vision as a global leader in interdisciplinary health outcomes and health policy research.”
