  • In a hospital in Blantyre, Malawi, Dr. Roberto Pecoits-Filho and his team conducted a simple saliva test with patients admitted for care, identifying undiagnosed kidney disease in 20% of the group. Roberto understands that developing regions of the world, face the challenge of basic disparities in disease awareness and diagnosis. On relocating from his native Brazil to Ann Arbor:

  • Ron Pisoni is a Senior Research Scientist specializing in end-stage kidney disease research for the Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS) Program and the United States Renal Data System (USRDS).

  • As a Medical Editor, Jennifer McCready-Maynes works with investigators, analysts, and project teams across Arbor Research to produce scientific papers, reports, and other deliverables. She ensures that all written content is of the highest quality, and that the knowledge gained through research is available to the people it helps the most.

  • Chad Cogan is an experienced research analyst who conducts quantitative research for the Health Policy and Practice program area. He performs complex statistical analyses on large data sets, and has contributed to papers accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals and abstracts accepted for presentation at major scientific meetings.

  • As the IT network manager and the security officer for Arbor Research, Bob has developed a first-class IT department. His deep knowledge and his commitment to mentoring junior staff contribute to the overall success of the organization.

  • In her role as a Health Care Research Programmer, Melinda specializes in working with Medicare data to support government-funded projects. She creates Standard Analytic Files from raw data, which are used by research analysts to perform various analytical tasks.

  • Zach works in SAS and SQL to develop standard analytic files for several different projects. His work allows him to collaborate with staff across the organization to provide data for research.

  • Since joining Arbor Research in 2014, Heather has played an essential role in the implementation of the Childhood Liver Disease Research and Education Network (ChiLDReN). She contributes expertise in a variety of tools and languages, including SAS and SQL.
