Alignment of Quality and Public Reporting Programs

This initiative supports the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in aligning and advancing existing quality and public reporting programs to ultimately improve health care quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness in the United States. Arbor Research, in partnership with NORC, supports CMS efforts to improve and align the websites that publically report information on the quality of hospitals, nursing homes, dialysis facilities, physicians and other practitioners, and home health agencies. The study team examines the gaps, best practices, and consumer understanding of the CMS Compare websites and highlight recommendations for strategic improvement. The project communications and rollout plan also support future ratings of health plans on the Marketplace Quality Exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act.
