Our Mission and History

The Arbor Research John Newmann Fund

As a founding member of the Arbor Research Board of Directors, renowned patient advocate John Newmann inspired us to keep our eyes squarely on those who are facing serious health issues. Through his work at Arbor Research and in his leadership roles in the American Association of Kidney Patients, the American Society of Nephrology, and other renal organizations, John Newmann personified the mission of Arbor Research in a personal, persuasive, and unyielding fashion -- to improve patient care and quality of life for those with chronic kidney disease and other serious illnesses.

John passed away in August 2011. In recognition of his lifelong advocacy for patients facing serious health challenges, Arbor Research has established the John Newmann Fund. The fund supports efforts to integrate our research findings into day-to-day medical and health policy practices. Contributions to the John Newmann Fund will be used to reach out to caregivers, clinicians, and patients so they may become more knowledgeable about treatment options available to those with chronic kidney disease and other serious illnesses.
